As in past years the house will open its doors to anyone interested in Bamberg’s history. Two properties – Austr. 29 and the upper floors of the Austr. 27 – can be viewed. Following an extensive renovation, the Bumiller Collection welcomed guests once again
for the first time on September 26, 2025. At a festive evening event, among others, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Hans Eggenberger, and the holder of the Chair of Islamic Art History and Archaeology at the University of Bamberg, Prof. Dr. Lorenz Korn, paid tribute to the efforts of the collection’s founder, Manfred Bumiller.

for the University Museum and the redesigned permanent exhibition.
Hadi Alizadeh provided the evening’s musical accompaniment with traditional

From the 5th to the 9th of July 2021 students of the monumental heritage sciences at the University of Bamberg completed a practical week on the premises of the museum. Under the guidance of Dr. Dr.-Ing. Dipl. Holzwirt Thomas Eißing, they were able to put their knowledge into practice. Samples from the historic beams were used to determine the age of the wood in the dendrochronology laboratory.
